Yes, if you do it right. I have a little Jack Russell, got her 2 years ago and she is now 13. She used to be a yard dog but she is clean in the house and has learnt to sit, walks to heel and behave extremely well. Just be patient and kind and your dog should soon learn new tricks if it really wants to please you.

My old golden retriever is 12 and learns new tricks all the time, never fails to amaze me my dog.

Yes but it takes longer. I have taught puppies to shake hands (paws) in just a couple of minutes. It takes 3 or 4 times longer with an older dog and they don't remember it for as long.
