If I remember correctly it wasn't so long ago when people started to point out the religion of the Presidents of the USA. I recall reading about how JFK was Catholic, and that this was looked upon as a sort of miracle that he was chosen for President. I would take this to believe_and actually did so for couple of decades_that having the Pilgrims come all the way over here to get away from England's hypocrisy among other things, that the basic American was non-Catholic, if only to spurn England and most of Europe.

To me this were merely my thoughts. After all who was hearing of "religion in politics" in the US? That was impossible to happen!!!

Now suddenly everyone seems to have found GOD_unfortunately after having done much evil some of them_and now religion has to be in government, as it already is all tangled up in politics, even dirty politics!

I wouldn't care what religion Mr. Romney or any of the candidates have, simply because what religion would be guiding us? Christian? Didn't Jesus Christ say his throne and his reign were not of this world, and could care less about material things?

Jewish? What did God say to Israel; "You want a king? I will give you a king! But remember I was your King and you have set me aside"....Don't have time to find exact words or Bible chapter and verse, but I clearly remember this. If I may add, I believe this is why Jehovah Witnesses reject belonging to army, etc. What does God's reign have to do with such a world we're living in now? He lets us govern ourselves, but who says he's happy with the way we're doing so?

I think some denominations think of Mormonism as a cult. I don't think it is important what his religion is. Harry Reid the majority leader in the Senate is also a Mormon and I haven't heard any negative comments about him because of his religion.

I've never met a man that left his religion at the door.
