ok here's the problem my car starts up and everthing and if i sit for awhile everthing seems fine when i go to drive once again everything is fine but when i go to stop or make a turn my RPM goes below the 1/2 point and the car cuts off. First it had a vaccuum leak but i got that fixed a week ago now i think its the spark plugs and wires cause if i gently tap on the gas to get the RPM back up before it goes below the 1/2 point the car will not cut off and allow me to stop but the car shakes when i stop and it kind of sounds like its coughing ( i think its mis firing or something) so what do you guys think?

the idle air control motor may be confused because it was trying to conpensate for a vacuum leak that you fixed and it doesn't know its gone. you'll need someone with a scanner to see what the motor is doing. it could be carboned up or stuck or out of range.

PS there is nothing in your exhaust to stop a backfire that gets clogged.

Your car is back firing, my lawn mower does that a lot, it shakes and makes loud sounds......

You SHOULD take you car to a machanic to have it inspected, cuase the problem could be the exuast-output-system......a part not many no about......its the big black ball (thus for: B.B.B.) in the exuast pipe that stops a car from back firing, but it also shuts the car off, basically chokes it......

And since the B.B.B. is to expensive to replace, you should either: go to a machanic to double check the problem, replace the B.B.B. (new exaust system), or buy a new vehicle (or used....your choice...hehe)....

(p.s. If you are getting a new car, look for a Citroen 2CV, its a European car thats baically the BROTHER to the original Volkswagen Beetle (Bug) )

some smoke from the exhaust is ordinary... if there's a extensive white cloud out of exhaust, cracked head or in basic terms head gasket. blue smoke burning oil, jewelry, seals etc. if it rather is not any longer overheating or dropping coolant than you should be ok for mechanical. Smoke from vents can't be reliable. Do you scent something burning or melting interior the vehicle? i'd disconnect the heater blower motor till concern is resovled. consistent with probability do away with it , sparkling, look at and attempt it! desire this helps. reliable success

Check the plugs. When in doubt, replace them with the same kind that the car came out with. Then clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner.
