I mean, because the majority of children are from divorced parents today. Should we have a new model and what would it be like?

Nice Fanz Karl!
People! You are not taking into account:
for one: there have been and there are some model societies who for example raise/take care of their children all together sharing responsibility.
Then if you look at animal ways of families in different species you'll see that nature has many ways so , no family has not always been this way we have now.
Then things HAVE changed! Women now work full time and more outside of the house In majority they usually have at least 3-4 different responsibilities/jobs: give birth and raise children, cleaner, cook, carrier/work outside the house, etc.,etc.

Also, how do you reckon we have so many years of schooling, university, and no one teaches you what to do with your feelings, in marriage and how to be happy.Don't you think we know by now? Aren't we ready t be etaching these? We are just advancing technology...

Hey
The model was there which is discarded by the society everybody thinks of his individual preferences No one is interested truly in their family other thantheir enjoyment and all their personal goals. They feel childrens are burden or doesnt exist for them. When they divorce they dont see the children through their mind. Naturally society is going to dogs with all dirty things happening around. Who can help them you, me or society.

In Eastern countries marriage is still sacred. They try to live with whatever they have with them and stand with each other during troubled days. Divorces are less naturally childrens mindset is also healthy which the Western countries missing including American continental and Africaans

Love issomething not lust, it will not happen in a day. Sometimes to understand a person takes lifetime. JHow can two souls can understand each other within shortest span of year or two. Naturally they breakup.

We have to create this understanding among society people parents

I think that because so many people getting married now a days are from split families, I believe the model is going to change. I am from a split family and I am going to work like hell to make sure my family stays together.

I think the model we have now is just fine.

The family goes back since the beginning of time.

I think what we need to do is for our children is take marriage more seriously......that includes the before and during the marriage. It's not marriage that's not working.....it's the people in the marriages.

People now get married thinking "until I'm no longer happy"....and it should be "we're going to do what's necessary to have a good and happy marriage".
