Before I got pregnant I tried so hard to lose weight and I couldn't. Now that I am 7 weeks pregnant I am losing weight! I thought my eating habits were ok. Is this normal cause I don't think I can eat anymore than I am now.

Very normal! Your body is building a baby and needs all the nutrition to do that - plus at the early stages it's hard to keep anything down. They also say that woman who are overweight can lose even more weight than average in early pregnancy with no bad effects.
Do try to take your prenantal vitamins whenever possible and make healthy choices with your food.
Go get a book called "what to expect when you're expecting" it's the pregnancy bible! YOur question as well as hundreds more are in there. I am pregnant with my 4th and I still refer to it almost daily.
COngrats and good luck

A couple of pounds ok. More than 5-10, you should check with your doctor.

Everything you eat is going to the baby and you will burn more calories, plus you may be experiencing lack of appetite (stuff smells or tastes weird) as part of your morning sickness even if you aren't throwing up.

Graze--eat small snacks and meals throughout the day. Big meals won't sit well with you, but neither will an empty stomach. (Some of my worst morning sickness was dry heaves when I hadn't eaten anything.)

You may be one of the fortunate ones that pregnancy works for--some girls who are a bit heavy prior to pregnancy find that the weight shifts to the baby and added to benefits to your body of breastfeeding, they are much happier with their weight and shape a few months after the baby is born than they were prior to being pregnant.

How often are you going for prenatal checkups? If you have another one coming up soon, you can probably wait and ask the doctor when you go. If it will be awhile, the weight loss continues, and you are concerned, call and ask.

if it's just a few pounds it's perfectly alright and pretty normal. I lost about 10lb in my first trimester just because I was so sick, but since I'm a normal weight, my midwife wasn't at all worried. You don't have to increase your caloric intake until the second trimester anyway, and don't worry, you'll gain plenty more during the second and third trimesters, so enjoy it while it lasts.

I would say it's normal. A lot of women loose weight in the 1st trimester because of nausea feeling so they don't feel hungry or are throwing up all the time. If it is a concern, contact your OB. Keep drinking plenty of fluids & eat small meals throughout the day- including snacks.

Good luck!

I had a friend who lost weight through at least part of her pregnancy. She ate fine, but I think she burned up the extra pounds being she worked two jobs. Anyway, it's happened before, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. But do let your doctor know.

yes-this can happen often-I wouldn't worry about it. Near the mid end of your pregnancy you should start gaining weight-it seems to accelerate then, at least for some people. Your ob will elp make sure you are gaining the right amount. Good luck!
