It isn't the marquee matchup that will draw numbers - look at the Cavaliers-Spurs NBA ratings disaster - but MLB does a very poor job in marketing teams/players throughout the year. So, for 2007, without New York, Boston or Barry, the remotes would be clicking to anything but baseball.
It will be too bad because this series will be intriguing; the best team in baseball by record (tied) and the hottest team ever in the playoffs.

Yes, it is possible.
BUT, for me personally, I would watch less of the series if Boston was in it. I'm not a Sox hater by any means, but, thanks to ESPN and Fox's Saturday games, I have seen them play more games this year than I've seen any other out of market team. They're being over-exposed. So, if Boston goes to the WS, it'll be more of a "been there, done that" type of situation for non-Boston fans.
Meanwhile, Colorado and Cleveland are both young, exciting teams to watch. How many office conversations were had this past week after baseball fans got a close look at Tulowitzki's cannon of an arm? I know I was talking about it.
I'm not a Rockies fan, but they sure are giving me some exciting baseball to watch this year.

I agree that this would be good for ratings because of the history of Cleveland and Colorado. Most people west of the Atlantic Coast region are more interested in good baseball than in "fancy" baseball which NY and Boston are known for. Boston's payroll is just under Cleveland's, Arizona's, and Colorado's combined, which just shows that money doesn't determine everything anymore.

Almost 99.9 percent for sure, unless by some miracle the Red Sox come back and win FOX's World Series Viewers will be limited to the Ohio and Colorado regions, no sense in showing it anywhere else.

I will be watching because I love baseball and these are the last games of the year. These teams all deserve to be here and we have to respect that because they've earned it. We can not expect the Yankees or or Red Sox in the Series every year and in the interest of parady and balance we need more smaller market teams like the Rockies and Indians in the Series. And when they get in we have to support the Series like we would if any other teams got in.

according to peter gammons this would be the best thing to happen to fox. you have a team that has never maded the playoffs in colorado and the indians who havent won the series since 1948. through in the fact that colorado has won 20 of 21 and the indians are about to take out the third best team in baseball (1. indians, 2. yankees 3. boston) right after taking out the second best team. The red sox fan above is out of his mind saying "you don't have to worry cuz it'll be boston and colorado" what a joke and give me a break. your players are playing with no heart. you see them out their and they are getting beat by a more focused and BETTER Indians ball club. But back to the question gammons, kruk, oney, and steve phillips have all said this could be one of the greatest world series for ratings b/c of the stories behind these teams. I agree. GO TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im not a follower, im a leader..i could care less about ratings. im a indians fan so i'll be watching...we aint there yet though..1 more game to go. world just needs to learn how exciting tribe players are to watch.. dont be a hater just cuz it aint new york or boston. thats the media building teams up that maybe are just not as good as indians team. and colorado is exciting too... i think for true baseball fans it will be exciting.. just not in boston/new york market..(thats if we make it)

We can only hope. Fox suffering is the correct state of affairs, and the only way Fox* suffers is by getting poor ratings that cost it money.
* Actually, any soulless, mendacious corporation suffers only the one way, by losing money or assets, but Fox particularly so deserves this doom.

i imagine there is two significant motives. a million. some human beings like the fox information (such as me yet i'm nonetheless skeptical of them) 2. For the individuals who don't like fox, that is leisure. (i'm also aside of this crew now and again, depending who's on lol)
