......looks like the stuff you throw out or save for washing the car or doing lawn work in because it's so ratty and worn you wouldn't want to wear it in public anymore?

Brilliant retail strategy, though......make the clothes so worn out to begin with that they don't last long, so you've got to buy more clothes sooner.......

Doh! : P

first off i dont even wear abercrombie and fitch...but i do know what you are talking about!! they print that faded lettering and stuff on to the tops and pants, and by the time you wash them, they dont say A THING..its nearly gone!

I like the worn look though, as far as jeans with the holes, and faded tops are concerned, just not the faded writings and pictures because if i am going to pay money for something especially designer, i dont want it fading off 2 hours later.

If it wasn't for the logos and tags (strategically placed always!)
on these clothes, you could go in Goodwill and find stuff that looked exactly like it and no one would know the difference!

You are so right they are overpriced and mostly worn and tacky looking. And what's with Hollister--it is so dark in there? I guess they don't want you to see how ugly it is until you have already paid for it and taken it out of the store!!
Wonder if that makes loss prevention harder for them, though?

I can't agree with you more!!!! We have given up on all of these stores! Absolutely right...looks like rags for washing the car! We don't shop the expensive stores. We go for reasonable prices...and clothes that actually look cute! We go for the clothes that make young people look great!!! Spending a fortune at these places only takes your money and makes you look like you are a unkempt slob.

You've got to admit, faded clothes do look more attractive.

However, they'res no way I would pay Abercrombie's prices for the stuff they sell. That shirt had better be gold plated.

I'd noticed.

I've also noticed that Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, and Lerners thnks that every woman desires to look like a 19th century Russian peasant.

No cause I don't shop there, where everyone looks a like and spends an arm and a leg to do it. But I guess I got a leg up on this one, I already shop at thrift/consignment shops where apparently these upscale places are getting their styles from anyway.
