What would be sad/childish about it? I think it'd be great to have either or both. I don't get to ride horses that often but have a great time when I do.

Iceskating..well..that's another matter, being an older fella and unfortunately, heavier (from quitting smoking) me and ice skates don't get along. lol.

Can this person play piano too? I wished I'd have learned, it would be much harder now to learn at 44.

It's not sad or childish . . . there's nothing wrong with trying to learn new skills at any age! It's great you want to take on new challenges! Much better than sitting in front of the tv or computer all day, right???

I started ice skating lessons nearly double your age . . . I was quite happy to do it! The only way it was childish was that it brought back some childhood memories/dreams of rollerskating and dance . . . and I wanted to be a kid again - hee hee.

So if you have the means to do it, go for it! When you find something you love to do, you will only be glad you're doing it!

Why would that be sad or childish? If it's something you want to do - do it! It's your life - it's your fun! Heck - I went back to guitar lessons at forty-something! Sure, the teens there look at me weird sometimes, but I also get their respect for being so "cool" at my age! Don't worry about others think and live your own life and have fun!

NO WAY!

I'm 24 and would love to have either (and would need to have lessons before doing either activity). Definitely not childish.

No way... Im 15 and have been horse riding since birth. Its a wonderful sport. I highly suggest you get some riding lessons, you meet a lot of new people and its wonderful to bond with an animal.

It is sad if you do not do things you will love doing because you care what other people think. Go out, do it, and enjoy x
