Sack up and lay it on the line in week 1. I'm tired of these weekly hypotheticals coming from USC and PAC-10 fans. The argument has regressed from USC being the best team ever to how USC could beat LSU in a spelling bee. Better yet, schedule SEC teams for all your non-conference games and LSU will gladly reciprocate. Have Pete contact Les Miles and let's get this done.

Both teams already have full schedules for the next few years, the few dates that aren't scheduled for the next few years for one school conflict with the schedule for the other.

i would love for that to happen. I bet if USC did that, they would probably finished unranked next year. Not saying that LSU won't lose cuz we are losing some very valuable players this year. But USC should do more than just talk a big game. They should prove that they are better. Which in this case would only prove that they aren't good enough to handle a schedule like LSU's or any SEC team for that matter

That's no good. If USC lost to LSU in the first game, it wouldn't look as good for Ohio State when they beat USC by 40 points in the following couple weeks. USC fans should already be WORRIED about next year's game against Ohio State.

I'd go as far as to say that almost ANY team in the SEC would give USC a run for their money. LSU, Auburn and Florida would definitely handle them. Ask anybody who isn't a USC fan which conference is the toughest in college ball, and they'll say the SEC because the entire conference is just that tough.

No USC is not afraid of LSU. Over the last five years USC has been the better team, just not this year with all their injuries. Week 1 is meant to be a gimme game for big programs (excluding Michigan) and its not as if they dont play enough tough oppostion as it is. Anyway, these arent the two best teams in the nation year in and year out, so the game might not mean a thing next year.

good question. good answers.

Perennial #1 and #2 teams from each conference should schedule their #1 and #2 counterparts from other conferences as part of their non – conference schedules. Same thing w/ #3s and #4s, etc.

I realize that the schedules are done several years in advance, but you’ve gotta start somewhere. Look at Notre Dame. They had to creatively figure out their schedule back when they wanted to be competitive.

I'd love to see that.
I know its not possible for the next couple of years unless they meet up in a bowl game...but how great would it be? To settle it on the field. LSU and USC are tied in their previous meetings, 1-1.

Geaux Tigers!

Why schedule the game at the top of the season?? Why not schedule it say, in weeks 7-10 when a loss will really impact the teams national ranking??

actually USC has scheduled an SEC team as their 1st game AU in 2003, AK 06 & Ak as their 2cd game in 05...AT AU, USC SHUT AU OUT, ON THEIR OWN FIELD, AND AU WAS A TOP 10 TEAM AT THE TIME!!! do you really want me to remind of the blowouts against AK????

why dont you do a lil research b4 you run ur uneducated, college football illiterate/ignorant mouth. oh and USC plays OH ST early next yr....

how is it that it must be USC is scared???i havent seen LSU contactingt USC...

why dont you take a look at LSUs non conf schedule and ask why they schedule DIV 1 AA teams...USC would NEVER do that...

Because USC is already losing to Ohio State in the second game next year. OSU/USC begin a home and home next year.
