I have a K7T Pro 2-A ATX VA Motherboard - PGA Socket A.
Spec for processor is:
ACPI\AUTHENTICAMD-x86_FAMILY_6_MODEL_4\_0
Can I replace the processor without replacing the Motherboard also?

To be honest you'd be better off replacing your motherboard & processor that way you'd be getting a faster machine than sticking with a single core machine problem is by doing that then you may have to get a new graphics card & memory too depending which motherboard you go for because most of the new ones will not have AGP support as it's now PCI-E slots but Asrock make motherboards that can support AGP & PCI-E cards i know cos i had one recently and they are good for the price I.E. not very expensive! I have a Athlon X2 6000+ running at 3.12 ghz and it's a really good also quite cheap for it's speed. Good luck with whatever you chhose to do!

Hi. Yes. The motherboard as a 'Socket A' type will support the 468 pins, but you may need a high quality board to get 400 MHz. I have an AMD XP 3000+ overclocked. Very happy with it.
A review of your board. http://active-hardware.com/english/reviews/mainboard/k7tpro-2a.htm

If the motherboard supports a faster CPU you can. Other than that you'll have to buy a new CPU/Mobo and probably RAM
