I don't think the poor thing will care if he's homeless or naked...He'll be dead! A turtle's shell is part of his backbone and all of his skin is attatched to it. If you take the shell off, you'll have to detach it from his skin- therefore you will kill it to do that. Turtles have a shell for a reason, not because it's their home or their protection, but they were born with it.------We were born with skin, how do you think we would live if there was no skin on our bodies, you'll think we'll live.... Maybe for a short period of time, but I don't think it'll last for long. LOL Seriously, it won't feel homeless or naked, it will be dead. :-S

If you mean HYPOTHETICALLY his shell is not his home, and he would not be naked. He would not be considered a turtle, although some other sort of reptile. We could call it the shelless tortoise. Im just giving you a hard time, he would seem a bit naked wouldnt he
