I didn't have any spotting, but felt the physical and emotional part of having a period. Did this happen because it is the first time I have purposely skipped my period?

p.s. I checked with my doctor first!

sorry, forgot to add that I skipped the sugar pills, and went straight to the next pack of active pills

I'm SO glad to hear you consulted your DOCTOR first! Too many women seem to think its ok when actually it may NOT be ok depending on the brand of pill.

IMO its a normal thing. I skipped my placebo week one time and still sort of felt those feelings and was just fine.

Be careful, the next time you have your period it may be a little heavier and a little crampier. I had to deal with that (after taking a few months for my period to come back during my placebo week).

How long have you been on the pill? The last pills you don't have to take it just helps you remember to take you pill. You can still get pregnant when you are on the pill. Doctor's say it will be most effective after the first month. As far as your period miss, You can miss a period do to stress ,lack of sleep or if you have been more active like in sports , run and so on... Or last one It you are having intercourse , If so take a home test. Also there are pills that you only have 4 periods a year. I hope this helps

Dont worry its fine to skip the sugar pills so you can skip ur period.

I did that last year for my Senior Prom so i wouldnt have to go through my period at the same time as Prom and my doctor told me to go right ahead

The only thing i experienced was that during that whole month i got SUPER bloated and i mean SUPER! My belly looked like i was pregnant when i had on little shirts

Great with checking with your doctor! Your body is still in period mode. Your hormones will still react as if you are on your period, and you will be bloated and probably have cramps, PMS, the whole nine yards. Just not the bleeding. It will probably happen every time you skip the placebos.

this is all psychological, the only reason to put the sugar pills in there is to keep you on schedule and keep u taking you hormone pills at the same time every day out of habit.
