Which one should I purchase and why?

well you should purchase the pc 4000 one,but only if your motherboard can support it..

--------------PC4000:--------------------------- PC3200
chip type- DDR500------------------------- DDR400
clock speed- 250 --------------------------- 200
bus speed- 500MT/s ------------------- 400 MT/s
transfer speed--4000 MB/s--------------- 3200 MB/s

higher is the better in all cases..

PC3200 runs at 400 MHz. PC4000 runs at 500 MHz. Naming convention can be a bit confusing.

If you want some help figuring out which memory is compatible with your system, consider using one of the many online memory configurators (I've linked the one from NewEgg.com)

PC3200 = 400mhz
PC4000 = 533mhz I belive

Slightly misleading.

It doensn't matter they are both compatible, but if you must buy or choose one pick the PC4000 because it is the newest model. Otherwise they are the exact same as far as bus speed and ram wise.
