I enjoy coin collecting. My grandfather has always collected coins and I've recently gotten hooked. It doesn't have to cost a lot. I can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination I'm in the mood for) for exactly face value. A box of cents is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of half dollars or quarters are $500.

Once I get a box, I go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). I keep all interesting coins and try to fill holes in my coin books.

The coins that I don't want/need can be returned to the bank and put straight back into my account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that I don't end up searching the same boxes over and over). So most of my money goes back and I can then get another box.

Some things to search for: wheat cents, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, coins with an "s" mint mark - they may be proof coins etc. There's always the chance of finding a real treasure!

I collect a lot of items; I started collecting Coca Cola bottles in '95, I collected baseball cards as a kid and a lot of those cards are woth a lot of money, I also have some comics from the early 80s they use to cost anywhere from .15 to .45 cents now some depending on condition are worth hundred$ if not thousand$.

Shot glasses. I have been collecting them for about 10 years and have around 500 I have them from all over the world. We dont drink but my husband says that our great grand children will think we were big drinkers if the collection stays in the family LOL

I've gone through a lot of collection phases. I used to collect Precious Moments pieces. Now I'm collected white Ty beanie buddies. Not sure why, but that's my recent thing. I also have a MASSIVE collection of purses :D

Porcelain dolls, special collectible Barbie dolls, and select McDonald's Happy Meal toy sets.

I've collected the porcelain dolls and Barbie dolls since I was 7. I'm now 17. I collected the Happy Meal toys (the bears, beanies, etc) for about 5 or so years off and on.

I love to collect glasses. I have all types like rock glasses, wine glasses, martinini glasses, champagne flutes, and several glasses I have found when I travel to different cities. I have been collecting for about ten years and have an awesome collection displayed in a rather large china cabinet.

I've been collecting needlework samplers for many years and have quite a few now, It is very poignant to read the texts and think of the little girls who made them mostly aged between eight and ten years old, some of them were made over two hundred years ago.They are not so easy to find now and the prices have gone up considerably.

for a while it was porcelain animals.. just as sort of tradition because i got one or two every year upon going to bridge day in wv... that went on for several years, now they're mostly broken or lost... then for a little while, a few months, i started collecting hats... just because i like hats... didn't get too much of a collection going because i don't have room. now i'm going to start collecting skulls... i got one recently, a fox skull, and i really like it. i'd like to have a collection of skulls and paint designs on them... i've also got an ongoing collection of coins and energy drink tabs. both of those have been going on for several months now..

I collect Precious Moments figurines and Dreamsicles figurines. I have been collecting Precious Moments for about 15 years and Dreamsicles for about 10 years. I collect them because I think they are both too cute!
