In the beginning he was a pitcher who played the outfield on days he didn't pitch. When he became a position player exclusively, he played Right Field. Throughout his career with the Yankees he also played in Left, although RF was his primary position.

Started as a pitcher, a sinker ball left hander, and still holds the record for most ground ball outs in a world series game.
When with the Yankees he was a right fielder... imagine david ortiz or prince fielder in the outfield... or jose canseco.
