Yeah, it's more like a tribute to the 80's look. There were a few things that weren't altogether bad in the 80's (not many) and the 2007 fashion has thankfully avoided the worst stuff. I like the 2007 80's look WAY more than the actual 80's look.

i hated the 80s when I lived through them the first time around. And I hate the 80s comeback. the 80s were a very scattered scizophrenic fashion time. on one hand you had the power suit, big shoulder pads and high top sneakers for the working folks, then you have the punk style with crazy hair and colors. or the skater look.

skinny jeans were never considered "in" in the 80s. we wore guess, bongo, jordache that were straight leg fitted and/or tapered...but never the skinny style you see now.

the 40s and 50s were way better looking

Umm, they are? When did this happen? This may be true for some age groups (Like, 13-17) But for people from around 18-24, that is the farthest thing from the truth. If you want a true example of what is currently 'in' right now - take a look at say, Lauren Conrad. This whole 80's thing is so sad - it is seriously like attack of the fashion disasters, the skinny jeans, flats, and t-shirt thing is so trashy.

Take a look at Lauren's website, her photos and then go to the out and about section -
Sorry, but I do not see this 80's look anywhere on her, and Lauren is very well dressed and knows what is in.

The '80s fashions are absolutely hideous. They do not create a flattering silhouette on any body type - thin or larger. It just looks awkward and gawdy even with the so called "more sleek and sexy" '80s look of 2007.

I love skinny jeans and can even handle the big belted sweaters. I will not, however be wearing any of the high waisted pants. That cut is just plain ugly in my opinion. I am a low rider girl for life.

Well I love somethings about the 80's

But NOT the

Wild colors, differnet socks, baggy pants, tall hair & the side ponytails.

I can always jam out to some 80's music!!!

I didn't like the 80's look in the 80's and I haven't grown any fonder of it over the years. I'd rather look classic than trendy any day.

p.s. I'm not scared of the 80's, I just think it looks tacky PLUS it really dates you when you follow every trend that comes about.

80's came from glam bands and skater cults and punk/euro scenes..... mostly its because any of those can support the american business suit, so all the corporate people can be cool to by wearing "glam-inspired" business casual and "punk-inspired" suits.... 80's turned into a workplace fashion trend, everything could have the "workabilly" look to it! (were work clothes are turned trendy)
