i am having real dificulty fing the lowest common multiple of 5445 and 2244 please can anyone help

To find the lowest common multiple, first break each number down into its prime factorization. You do this by dividing by prime numbers until you can't do it any more.

5445 = 3 x 3 x 5 x 11 x 11
2244 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 11 x 17

Now take enough factors to just "cover" both numbers. You need two 2s, two 3s, one 5, two 11s and one 17

(Notice you need two 3s, not three. Look at each factor and determine what's the maximum number of times it appears in each number. 2 appears twice in the bottom number. 3 appears twice in the top number, etc.)

The final result will be:
2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 x 11 x 11 x 17 = 370,260

5445 x 68 = 370,260
2244 x 165 = 370,260

This is the lowest common multiple of these two numbers.

First you have to multiply both numbers and then divide by the highest common divisor.
Since prime factorisation yields :
2244 = 2² x 3 x 11 x 17
5445 = 3² x 5 x 11² ,
we can find the hcd by taking the common prime factors, in this case 3 and 11 => hcd = 3 x 11 = 33.
Thus we have 2244x5445/33 = 370260.
