Most countries are in violation of some number of UN resolutions -- including the US.
A UN resolution is non-binding -- it's a majority opinion of the countries that voted for the resolution -- but it has no legal effect, because the UN is not a lawmaking or enforcement body.
At best, some countries can use UN resolutions as an excuse -- like the US -- but using what someone else said as an excuse doen't make the behavior any more legally valid.

Israel is in violation of UN Resolutions? How about the fact that the UN continuously and unfairly targets Israel? How about the fact that they're surrounded by nations that pray to destroy them? How about the fact that they've been the Wests most consistent ally? Check out this site...

They would have to face the consequences not just from the Western countries but Israel themselves. Were you aware that Democrats have the majority of the Jewish vote? That's a very large group and with concerns like this they are beginning to move away from the left to center and right.

They can TRY, but we will kick both of their butts.
Reality is that there was a multitude of reasons why we had the authority to go BACK to war with Iraq. I will only explain the basics to you because your question leads me to believe that you could not understand in depth reasoning.
The 17 UN resolutions that Saddam ignored were there to get Iraq back into compliance with the peace treaty which ended the first Gulf war. The very fact that they were violating the peace treaty is what gave us authority to go back in. We were EXTREMELY patient and diplomatic to wait for 17 resolutions from an inept body to be ignored before we went back in. We went in because the ENTIRE WORLD, INCLUDING SADDAM thought that he had WMD and was close to NUKES.
I will not go into depth about the likelyhood that some WMD left Iraq and are in Syria as your head might explode.

Isreal is always in violation... we just ignore it. We only claim UN violations when a country we dislike has them. That's the hypocrisy of politics.
