My heavens, they shouldn't be. Think about it, it's more relaxed because there are no children lurking in nearby bedrooms and there is no longer a need to jump up early in the morning for work. This is the time of our lives when we have the freedom to explore sexual expression in ways never before realized. A time to cast away the “confines” of earlier years and the societal expectations. We're no longer tethered to the expectations of youth!
Now that I said all that, you must excuse me, I'm going to go join my hubby in the TV room. See everyone tomorrow.

Some people are still shocked at elderly sex but I do think that attitudes might be changing a little for the better at last. Although I'm only in my late forties many of my good friends are well over sixty and they talk and laugh openly about sex and they aren't embarrassed at all so why should other people be. I think it's great they still have an active sex life (better than mine probably) and don't feel at all embarrassed about it. I only hope if I reach their age I'll still be healthy enough to enjoy it too.

Sadly some people(of all ages) are shocked that the elderly are able to do anything let alone enjoy sex I find that I am patronised( my word he can use a computer and he surfs the Internet) by people more now, than I ever was in my youth I would quite like to tell them to go hell but my politeness nearly always wins.

I am not shocked that elderly folks make love. Most of them have the same partner all the time, meaning they are NOT bed hoppers like most of the younger folks are. To most of the younger folks, (teenagers & up to say 20's or so) they are bed hoppers, now they have sex. But when folks that are more mature than that, and have one partner, they make love. As far as your body doing the sag trick, that happens to us all. If you really do love a person, that is not going to matter to you. If a person lives to be a 100+ and they can still make love, more the power to them. What goes on behind closed doors...should stay behind closed doors. I hate when young folks (or anybody) talks about their "sex" life. If any one has a problem in that area and wants advise, that is one thing, but to talk about it in the open.....I don't think so.
As far as the elderly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is the difference in the elderly making love and a person that is obese, we all need lovin.

Are they really, I don't believe it!
Those that are shocked probably grew up with parents who kept sex private - after the children were asleep! leading to the myth that the elderly know nothing about it or that there is a cut off date when you stop producing babies therefore no need for it.

I think by the time kids are teens they can't imagine their parents having sex. As they get older so do their parents and they just assume they don't. They form a belief that older people have no interest, are not physically able and just don't want to. Ah, those silly youngsters! They will find out when they get old.

well, sex is for kids. mature people concentrate on more important matters. i know i have a drinking problem and recently had another blackout and passed out in my boss's office.
so, i don't have time for sex. sex just never crosses my mind and all men are pigs no matter what age they are. they just mistreat we women. few exceptions. for thousands of years men need women for sex and security -- since cave men, i suppose. not much different now except women are finding other ways to support themselves and modern society provides good protection. they treat the cutie sexpots good but plain women have been catching hell for centuries. the worm has turned. i have my panosonic vibs and go to the gym and you better believe i won't have elderly sex!

because when you look At magazines TV movies, and any other media you never see it displayed, so it doesn't seem as prevalent, but it is. The other day my 80 year old mom was complaining, she said, "'these were suppose to be my golden years, and a time to rest, and what happens! some idiot goes and invents Viagra, and it's all down the drain! " "your dad is driving me crazy!! " Just thought i would throw that in. ha ha

I think that it is probably down to parent child - relationships.
If a parent can be open and honest with their kids throughout childhood and through puberty then it leads to less anxiety later.
I only mean answering the questions they may ask honestly, you shouldn't be shy, after all they are your offspring and you have brought them up.

Jelousy................no honestly its a strange thing getting older...The younger you are then you think that you have invented sex and that only young bodies can enjoy this act.
What younger people fail to realise is that with maturity comes understanding and the more you practice the better you get.
For 20 yrs I was a Warden for sheltered housing for the elderley, I did learn alot.
There was nothing nicer than a couple who were still in love and still enjoyed a healthy sex life.
In truth no-one wants to imagine their Parents having sex somehow we tend to think that our Parents are innocent and magically us kids appeared. Whats even worse is when your teenagers catch you in the act....it scares the hell out of them.....hey ho......life can be so sweet.
