I am crossdresser and am new to wearing pantyhose. I went shopping yesterday and tried on two pantyhose and instantly got runs in both of them. Is there a proper way to wear pantyhose

You can't try on pantyhose in the store. I assume you did the trying on part once you got home!

You need to buy pantyhose in the correct size (there are size charts on the package). Remove them from the package and GENTLY stretch them out a bit. Roll the leg all the way down to the foot part and then CAREFULLY insert your foot. SLOWLY work the hose up your leg until just above your knee. Then do the same for the other leg. Now stand. Work the hose up the thighs SLOWLY until they are on.

I recommend buying a sturdy hose such a LEGGS until you get the hang of it. And be sure your finger nails and toe nails are filed smooth.

And keep the clear nail polish handy to stop those pesky runs.

All types of nylons, including thick stockings will form runs if you're not careful. This also includes the more expensive brands. Because it's just a very thin, sheer layer of material with elastic in it. If one of those elastics break from too much stress...you end up with a run. Some things she can do to make sure they won't: Buy some with a reinforced toe. Trim toenails. Use a pumice stone on any cracked or callused skin that could cause a tear. Wear shoes that won't have any friction, she should look for some that are leather instead of plastic, so if there are seams on the insides of the shoes, the leather shoes will be less likely to put a hole in the nylons. Shoes that are the correct size will help as well. Nylons that are the correct size. Or she can just wear a business pants-suit if the dress code is business attire, then she won't need to wear a full pair of nylons she can wear thin dress socks.

it helps if you kind of bunch them up so you can put your toes right into the foot, then coax them up your ankle(don't just stick your whole leg in from the top). then put the other foot in and slide them up both legs a little at a time.
when you pull them up, use the sides of your fingers and thumbs, rather than your fingertips--the fingertips, especially if you have nails, will go right through nylons. make sure you get the right size, too, because stretching too tight will make runs form easier. and don't buy the cheapest ones--i like sheer energy by leggs (they're not super expensive and seem to last).

for emergencies: if you do get a run, dab a bit of clear nail polish at each end of the run. it will keep it from "running" more.

Make sure you roll them up, so you only have a small part to put your foot in and then gently pull them up your leg. Also make sure your nails don't get in the way. ALSO, if you do get a run and your out, use some clear nail polish on it, it'll stop the run until you get home.

By the way, I really hope you are cross dresser and not some person being silly.

Bunch/ roll them up one leg at a time, point your toe and then put the pantyhose over your toe and gently roll/unbunch. Make sure you get the right size too. That will keep them from running so easily.

welcome to the world of pantyhose. this is one of women's biggest complaints about them and why we don't like wearing them.

there isn't really a proper way of wearing them. You just have to be careful putting them on, taking them off and not hit things. I am a klutz and constantly run into stuff like my desk at work and get snags.

Tights are a better option or stockings/garter belt.

Bunch up the entire leg down to the foot part..
Put your foot in first and then pull it up.
Do the same for the next leg.

Don't push your leg through hose, just pull the hose over your leg.

I hate them !
