You don't say how old you are, or how long it has been going on. But you may have just pulled a muscle or strained it somehow if you workout. There is also a condition called "pleurisy" where you lining of your heart gets inflamed and causes alot of pain. I have not had it but i took care of a friend that had it and if that is what the problem is you should get to a doctor asap. If you are over 30 you should have a mammogram to make sure that you don't have any tumors. It may just be cysts that are normal. Do you give yourself breast examines once a month? YOu should no matter what your age and if you go to the doctor that will be the first thing they do, is palpitate your breast to see if you have any lumps or suspicious signs>? Do you have any discharge from your nipples, if so get to see a doctor as soon as you can. Do you smoke? It may be a lung prob? Take care of yourself and go to the emergency room if you have no insurance if it gets any worse Good Luck

It could be something called referred pain, and could be originating in your back with a nerve pinched. Sometimes we have a problem in one area, but the pain is felt in a different area. Perhaps you sleep or sit in an awkward position...
Or, another possiblity is that you have a blocked duct in your breast. Breast tissue is dense and sometimes little areas get blocked or inflamed. This could be an blockage of fluid or even an infection of your breast. You could also have a cyst starting and it is causing some pain with the fluctuation of your hormone levels.
If you are worried about it, you should probably go and see your family doctor or a woman's health clinic in your area. It is most likely nothing to worry about, and if you are worried about breast cancer, keep this in mind, carcinoma of the breast rarely produces pain. Usually the women finds a lump that is not painful...so, hope this helps.
But, I do suggest you see your doctor to have it checked out as an infection in your breast is really not something that you should have to endure and can be easily treated.
Why sit and wonder when a trip to the doctor or free clinic will put your mind at ease?

If you are experiencing pain, depending upon the level of that pain and it's frequency. Do not waste any time, make an appointment with a Doctor. Chest pain in men as well as women can be linked to many things. I'm not a doctor but am aware of my body. I've had three heart attacks and know what they feel like. You don't mention your age but that's not a problem. Please do as I ask and go to the doctor to get an examination. If anything, it will calm you down and reduce your level of stress, another factor in heart disease.
Good Luck and stay healthy.

I have that every now and again and when I get it it last for a week or so, every time I breath or move or anything it hurts! The doctor told me they were a "catch" kinda like a growing pain. I know I'm not growing anymore but he said they are not unusual. If it persists for more than a week or two I would go see the doc just in case! Good luck! I really don't think its anything to worry about!

It sounds to me like intercostal pain. The muscles in between your ribs can spasm, causing pain. I had the same thing and asked a doctor about it during a routine physical evaluation and that's what he told me. If it goes away and it's unaccompanied by any other symptoms, then it's not a heart attack.
However, if it gets worse or even if you're unsure, you should see a doctor about it.

any pain in chest area should be seen by a doctor
however you may have pulled an intercostal muscle or bruised one
also may be a cold in the plura the protective sack between ribs and lungs.
as you say isnt deep enough in chest cavity so dont think it heart related or bruised pericardium or angina.
as i first said should seek medical advice when ever pain occurs in chest area..

Is it in the breast, or does it feel like it's in your ribs?
I get something like that, but it feels like one of my ribs has dislocated or something. I can't breathe because it's excruciating to inhale and expand my ribcage. After a few minutes, it'll usually pop back into place. Sometimes I'll even hear an actual "click" sound. It's freaky. I hate it when that happens.

Go to see a Doctor. Or get some information at a local health clinic. This will stop your worrying and you may find that you have been panicking over nothing.

Go to a Doctor, even if a free clinic. Check Google or someplace for a location in your area. Do not Ignore anything. It may cost money for the exam, imagine what it will cost if you Don't get it checked.
