I have a Laptop with a built-in Wi-Fi switch, which i use to connect to internet from hotspots. I want to connect my Laptop to my PC, so i can share files and play games on LAN. What should i buy to plug into my PC, to achieve this?

Would such a gadget (if there is any) make it possible to also share my wired ADSL connection, which at the moment is connected to my PC?

Thanks in advance..!

Purchasing a wireless router seems to be the most likely solution to your request.

If you get a wireless router, you should be able to setup your network like so.

Connect your ADSL modem to your router's WAN port.
Connect your PC to your router's LAN Port (usually have at least 4 or 5 of these)
Connect your Laptop to your router via. WLAN (Wireless Lan).

Setting up your network like this will allow you to have a hotspot for your laptop in your home, and it will also allow you to have both of your machines connected together and on the net simultaniously.

For help on setting up your router and wireless network you may need to ask a local proffessional, but it's usually as simple as plugging everything in and then restart the devices.

Good Luck!

Purchase a wireless router for your home. The router would hook up between your PC and your ADSL Modem and should come with a setup disk to get you going. You can hook up the PC to the Router (usually) via a LAN cable, rather than having to buy a wireless card for the PC.

The Laptop will then connect to your new little home network through the Router. Enabling file sharing will allow you to share files and other resources between the laptop and the PC.

A wireless router should do the trick as long as your ADSL modem is connected to your PC via ethernet and not USB.

If it is then you will have to get a DSL or cable modem that is networkable via Ethernet so that you can hook it up to a wireless modem and be able to access the Internet on both your PC and laptop.

You would want a wireless router.
They vary greatly in quality and price so if you have any specific needs some research would be in order. However a basic cheap wireless router will probably work just fine.
Acquiring one is easy as they are quite common. You can find them at most stores that have an electronics section. You can also find them cheaper on the internet new or used from http://www.craigslist.com even at thrift stores such as Goodwill.
