It sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. These can occur during "pre-labor". These are normally not consistent and happen at random times.
If you get worried, call your doctor.
Congratulations on the pregnancy!

This sounds like sciatica, it is a shooting pain from your bottom and down your leg, it can be real painful and make it difficult to sit. It is probably the position the baby is in which is putting pressure on the sciatic nerve. Hope you feel better soon, if it is sciatica it comes and goes. Good luck xx

I am 24 weeks and I get it in my lower back/bottom, it could be that you are resting on a nerve for too long or the really painful sciatica (very common in pregnancy)
I suggest a nice curved maternity pillow to rest your back, but if it gets really bad see your doc and get referred for some physio massage :-) Good luck! xxxx

bit personal here, but do you mean your buttocks or your vagina? In your vagina it can be stretching of the cervix, or the baby sitting on nerves.
Otherwise if you mean your buttocks then it could be sciatica which is a nerve that runs from your bum all down your legs. It is quite common in pregnancy. If you are really worried about the pain, or it gets worse, you should see you doctor.

Well, this could actually be gas. All of the pressure that the baby is putting on you could cause many different things. But I would call your doctor asap. It could be something more serious than you think. Hope everything turns out okay.

Baby is getting into position to be born... he is getting head down and starting to "engage" (pushing down in your pelvis) and that will cause sharp pain like that in your bottom and hoo haa...
