Had a snake in the house yesterday! it was appromalixy 1 1/2 ft to 2 ft long. It was either black or brown. If it was black it had dark rings going all the way down its body. If it was brown then it dark rings but darker then if it was black. Its head was bigger than its body and it was in a diamond shaped! We can't idefine what it was if you now please help to find out what this is or could be.

Ok! Well, can't answer your question, because I have no idea where you live! Snakes, as all animals, have a place of residence in this world! If you are in the U.S. you'd have to find out what snakes are native to your area, or in any other part of the world you'd have to do the same! As it stands from that description and my own experience from being from the southern U.S. it sounds like a moccasin, water moccasin, cottonmouth, whatever you like! But that diamond shaped head, no matter where you're from, screams posinous so leave it alone and get professional help!

I'm thinking it was rat snake it's non-poisonous, it gets big, it has a diamond shape head and is black & brown. They very often come inside of buildings looking for mice, rodents etc. But without seeing it I just don't know. http://www.kentuckysnakes.org/snake_details.cfm?snake_number=33&option=backyard_snakes

if you are in the south area it was prob a cottonmouth.they are nasty and will chase you.I live in fl.in the country and they are pretty common here.the diamond shaped head is a dead giveaway of a poisionus snake.they have a dark brown almost black strek under the eyes on the head
