Yes.
I also give up watching TV for children.

I also monitor everything else kids do.

I have three kids - ages 15 and 11 and I do monitor what they watch on TV. Thankfully my son watches sports or Spongebob. My two girls though - man they will watch ANYthing they can find. My oldests main obsession is WWE and my youngest is Hannah Montana (which let me tell ya, Disney is not as wholesome as they'd like everyone to think they are these days)

My son has the tv on the most out of the three - but then hes usually doing something else and its just background noise - right now hes reading his library book but has on Tom & Jerry (hes laid up for a year following leg surgery) His viewing is monitored but not limited.

My girls though, I limit them to once their homework and chores are DONE - then they can watch - it usually equals out to an hour or two - depending on whats going on.....

We have shows we watch together, like Kid Nation and Survivor - those are great to watch together.

Yes my husband and I try to monitor what they watch now. They only watch an hour of t.v. and it's not really cartoons on cable they are watching. We bought them tons of those I Spy DVDs so they watch those more then regular cartoons

Yes, I do. I always peek into my 14 yr old daughter's room to see what's she's watching. Some shows on VH1 and MTV are not suitable for her age. Sometimes they watch more than the recommended viewing time....guilty!!

Well I have a 3yr old and 4yr old. I don't let them watch anything bad for their age. I only let them watch educational cartoons, like on Noggin or Sprout. I don't limit the time really either. They have learned alot from those shows. And yes I also play with them and teach them myself.
