Did you do anything to injure it or did it just start on it's own? The only way you can sprain a body part if by a substanial injury. If it just started hurting on it's own, then does it hurt the most when you first get out of bed? If this is the case, then you probably have plantar fasciitis. If this is the case, see a good physical therapist who can show you some exercises to get better.

Probably Plantar Fasciatis.
Try taking a cool, shave cream can, laying it on its side, resting your foot on it and then roll it on the floor (back and forth). After you've done that for about 10-15 minutes, try stretching your gastroc.s/achille's (push a wall over, stand on your tippy-toes, and then hang low on your toes off a step). Ultimately, if this is indeed the case, it's from foot wear with little to no arch support and/or from standing for prolonged periods on a hard surface (concrete floor with tile). It was probably slow coming on and will leave as it came on, slowly. Give it time and try a new pair of shoes.
