It cost nothing all you need is a letter which can be copied from the net, you simply fill in the detail and ask someone to signe it and stamp it to if possible but there is no specific legal way to do this
Legally you can revert to your maiden name. The cost you see advertised on the net is for the cost of the company to send and prepare your statement.

You can do this of course but all you need to do is to ask the various authorities to address you in the name you want to use. you can call youirself any name you wish just as long as you are not doing so to enable a fraud to be commited. Once peole have got used to the idea you can if you so wish have it altered by deed poll. it is as well to know that when you married it was and is only custom that makes you take your husbands surname not law. Think about it JESSIEBLUE your emotions are running high after your divorce.

you can go back to your maiden name as long as you just let officials know. ie bank, council tax etc
it's free if you are reverting to maiden name. costs £15 by deed poll for another name

Have no idea but I think there would be hassle with changing everything with your old name on it. Out of curiosity what are you thinking of changing it to? Is it something bizarre or just a simple change to maiden name

doesn't cost that much to change your name - you can do it on-line!
It's changing your name on everything else that makes the cost mount up e.g. driving license, passport etc. Also the hassle of informing all the relevent companies etc of your change of name. It is something I would like to do but because of the above !!!!!!! - haven't.
Legally you can't just revert to your maiden name.

I think that you can change your name any time as long as you tell the appropriate people eg post office job centre etc and it should cost nothing.
