Life neither gives or denies. We are either smart enough to take what comes our way and make the most of it, or we wallow in self pity and whine about what we should have had.

Why dwell on that? Count all the joys that life has afforded to you. It's probably a longer list, anyway, right???

Its a worthless effort to do so and you begin to miss what life is trying to throw at you. So just keep your eyes open eventually life is going to hit you in the face with one of those joys.

Yes, then I begin to feel really down, as if I have just missed another train, traveling to a wonderful place I've always wanted to visit. But I learned the following from a movie I happened to catch in its middle. Whenever, such feelings of depression or let-down, or even feeling sorry for myself, I have this rubber band around my wrist and will snap it hard, so that it snaps me from the negative to the positive.
It works most of the time, let me tell you!!!
