There should be a way to petition getting a violation notice and if you win that then you should get a point...but just to get one no that would be a bad idea than everyone would be going it to get points.

No. I may be in the minority, but what I like about this website is that it's restricted to the questions and answers format. That's what makes it interesting, informational, and fun. If it were just a place where we could post anything we wanted to, it would be littered with so much crap that it wouldn't be any fun, and it wouldn't be unique. The trolls, spammers, and pornographers would run rampant. There are hundreds of websites where you can post anything you want. There are even Yahoo! Answers forums where you can rant or chat about Yahoo! Answers. Why don't you want to go there? Because it sucks, that's why. It's like if your favorite sport didn't have rules. What's fun about running around with a ball for no reason and no goals to achieve?

That is a dumb reason to get a violation. I don't know if we should get points for a violation notice, but we do get points for everything else.
