Is anyone planning or considering a UC? (means unassisted childbirth- no hospital, no docs, no midwives)

I know someone who labored on their own for several hours at home before their midwife got there and by the time she was checked there was no heartbeat. When they got to the hospital, she had to go through labor and give birth to her child. The cord was wrapped around the babys neck 5 times, death could have been prevented if she was in the hospital on monitors. I will always go to the hospital to have my children.

Never. I am pregnant with my 2nd. With my first, I had to push for two hours and use a low-pressure suction to help my daughter come out (no problems at all). I also had two episiotomies and 4th degree tears all with an epidural, thank goodness. I couldn't imagine having done that from home. Scary. I love my OB and hospital and am thankful for them.

Not me I'm not having kids. Even back in the day they had some assitance, granted it wasn't the greatest, don't think it is a good idea to gamble with a babies life like that.
