Yup. 7 years ago, my youngest son.
Choking on a hard candy.
Thankfully I have been trained in c.p.r and lifesaving.
I will admit that because it was my kid that I panicked a bit.

Not on a person, but I have performed the heimlich manuever on a dog! My parents dog was choking on a peice of food, he couldn't breath and was making a weird choking noise. So I got behind him and did a doggy version of the heimlich and the food went flying across the room!

i have. the heimlich manouver should only be used as a last resort as it can cause internal injury, a good slap on the back is preferred, following that, tip them over and slap it again.. then the heimlich.. then if all else fails blow the obstruction into one lung, they will live at least!
i have done it once and it scared the crap outa me, but it came out

Yes! I had to use it on a baby once in a restaurant. Mom and dad gave the baby a cooked baby carrot to eat, and it went down the wrong way. I was at another table, and when I realized what was going on, I went over, put the baby on the floor, and gave its little tummy a push. The carrot popped right out, just like you see on TV - pretty cool. We called 911 just to be on the safe side, but the baby was sitting up laughing before they ever got there. I went back and finished my meal; the restaurant wouldn't let me pay for it!

well me and a friend were out friday night and she couldn't throw up so i tried the Heimlich maneuver on her to see if she would spew

No. But had it done on me as a kid. My girl scout troop was at a camp & we were eating candy & jumpng on the bed...I got a sugar daddy (like the small one) wedged down my throat! The Maneuver made me hurl OUCH!

i haven't but i was with my mum once when she had to do it on a child, he was choking on a small boiled sweet, after she tried hitting his back he started turning blue, so she did the heimlich on him and he coughed it up, i was so scared and his mum was stood shouting and panicking so i'm just glad mum was there to help as who knows what would have happened.

I had to do it on my dog!
poor baby, he was a boxer, so being a bigger breed it was pretty easy to do.. AND IT WORKED!
I dont remember what he was choked on, but it popped right out!

myself once playing hackie sack while chewing gum and it got caught in wind pipe so slammed fist in gut and it popped out scarred me never play sports while chewing gum could get ugly fast no one noticed my distress got lucky learn from my mistake it only takes once to be finished got lucky/////
