Yes i have a scottish terrier and as long as you let him he will sit in the recliner, jump in the bed before you have a chance to get in and even demand to be fed or given a treat when your in the kitchen. But thats what i love about scotties - lots of attitude.

Yes my Rescue dog BoBo thinks he is the HDIC (head dog in charge) if any one comes over or any of the other dogs moves he has to start his barking and he drives me crazy. When he is needy he will set on the floor and whine like he cannot jump on the couch and he makes me pick him up. Each morning he barks and barks until I feed them and I have their food bowls ready the night before so it does not last very long. He is a stinker!

Dogs don't think like people, trying to put human emotions on to dogs is a bad way to go. If your dog is acting like the leader of the pact that is because you are letting her get away with being the leader of the pact. It sounds like you need to be more disiplined with your dog for the sake of you and the dog.

Dogs are pack animals. One of them has to be the Alpha dog. Your dog thinks she is it. You might want to take your dog to an obedience class which will teach you how to make puppy behave and establish you as the boss.

i have a dog that thinks she is a human. she likes to sit on the sofa, and if 2 adults are standing and talking (she is small) she'll jump really high into the air constantly between them until one of them picks her up so she can join in the conversation!

No, in our house, it's the cat who rules. He takes no guff from the dog.
