Most likely its a flasher or a fuse. A flasher may cost a couple of bucks a fuse is less than that. This is not a big deal.

You could have a fuse burnt out or bulbs burnt out. The most likely thing that is wrong is the flasher module/hazard switch is faulty. The easiest way to see if this is what is wrong is when the "blinkers" don't work, leave the turn switch on and tap the hazard switch and see if the signal switch blinker starts to work. I don't mean depress the switch, I mean tap it or hit it lightly to jar the internals into working. These things were absolute crap and there actually was a factory recall on some of these models. If no recall, it's pretty easy to replace the unit.

I would check the fuse or the bulbs themselves. But if all them are out, even the inside lights showing which blinkers are on, then it's the fuse. It is a really easy fix. And it does sometimes just happen.

My lighter plug fuse went out a couple months ago when i was charging my cell. It took about two minutes to replace. And only cost like 10 bucks for a ten pack of assorted fuses. Sometimes there are extra in the fuse box(es) of the vehicle.

Impala Turn Signal Problems

2017-01-14 16:22:28 · answer #4 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

This is a VERY common issue with the 00-05 Impalas. It is extremely easy to fix and the part costs $50-$60 depending on where you buy it from. What happened is the hazard/blinker multi switch failed. It's located in the dashboard, it's the large black button with an orange triangle on it. All you need to do is remove your dash face, unplug the switch, pop it out, and replace it with the new one. Follow these instructions to remove the dash face: http://impalahq.naioa.com/HowTo/Dash.html

The part number for the hazard/blinker switch is: 10359031 and it can be purchased from your local Chevy dealership's parts department.

Just a thought. Check to be sure you did not bend your tailpipe or plug it up with mud. This will cause problems. Also try removing the gas cap when you get low on fuel you can build high pressure in the tank if this solves your problem you need a new cap or a fuel tank vent. Next if you can't here the fuel pump pressure up when you first turn the key on then you most likely have a bad pump or you may have a loose connector at the pump. Due to the fact you were stuck makes me wonder about something that could be related to that You Know what I mean? Check for the obvious things first Thanks Bill B

Both anwers are right, it could be a fuse or the flasher relay, or it could be the combination switch in the steering wheel. Try to turn on the hazard lights see if they work.

turn signal flasher fuse is located on the driver side fuse block, should be the 4th mini fuse in the 3rd row of fuses
