just out of curiosity.
at my school your encouraged to take them 10th grade, but you can take them junior year.
i'm gonna wait till junior year so that i can study and qualify for national merit scholar.

although taking the psats junior year is definitely a good idea, i strongly recommend taking them sophmore year too. this way, you can see what areas you need to improve when you get your score back, and since your sophmore year score doesn't matter (it doesn't qualify you for the scholarship), its okay if you do badly. so it's like practice for your junior year.

i took them sophmore year and it really helped because i found out what subjects i needed to study.

In the early 1970s the PSAT and ACT were given in junior year, and the SAT senior year.

At the beginning of my junior year in high school. Then I took the SAT at the beginning of my senior year.
