I know a lot of people that are jewish, and they all eat very little...i don't mean for this to be discriminitory in any way, I was just wondering.

In general, I don't think we eat more or less than any other group of people; I don't know to which group you are specifically referring. However, there are some Jewish laws and customs that may relate to your question.

We are taught to be sensitive not to overindulge in the actual presence of those who are deprived. In earlier times, it was even customary to give the waiter a little bit of each delicacy he serves so as not to deprive him. So great is the importance of this principle that Jewish law tells us that whenever possible we should not even eat in the presence of a dead person. There are also other restrictions which the rabbis historically placed on us, even in private, in actual times of famine and shortage.

Judaism advocates moderation, not abstinence; the Talmud tells us that ideally we should eat and drink only to two-thirds of fullness.

Hopefully this helps somewhat.

They often aren't obese, mainly because drinking is not programmed into the culture..... but food definitely is. A quick summary of all Jewish Holidays:

1. They oppressed us.
2. God saved us.
3. Let's eat.

What a strange question! It's kind of funny! I have never heard that before. What i do know, the ones here in NYC appear robust, so I assume they eat a hearty meal every now and then!
