What's the connection between General Buller General French and Baden Powell why would they be on a coin/medal

I have found a 15mm coin/medal with generals Buller, French and Baden Powell dated 1900 South Africa. one side has the three generals the other two flags crossing one union jack the unidentified, with a crown between the flags.

They were all officers who fought in the Boer War
