I say pumpkin when I am talking about a pumpkin but when I am speaking to a loved one I say punkin a term of endearment.

LOL, I say pumpkin because that is the right way to say it per the spelling. But I still hear so many people say punkin! I don't know why that is. I'd have to say though, those are probably the same people who say "liberry" instead of library.
