Well, I have some old glue that has stuck to the inside of the bottle. there is still some liquid glue in the center, so perhaps glue doesn't stick to itself?

This is a really interesting question. Maybe it's gotta be oxidized, like exposed to air to be dried? For example, when your glue bottle is left in the open, it dries up.

Because it needs to be exposed to the air to become an adhesive.
