Nearly all inventions, from the making of fire to all medical...
biological (food) engineering.etc are usefully...it just depends on the way we use /share it.
Unfortunately our Ethic Principe's are hundreds/ perhaps thousand years behind our technology. Why?
This discrepancy includes a big danger.for example:..today G. Bush menaced with a third world war, if the Iran won t give up his atomic programme. We have the fire...but can we use it responsible?

Which has to do with a signal sent out and one coming into the radio or the Internet(You send a message out to a friend from Yahoo and your friend receives it on his/her computer!Great!
