Ahhhh you mean;
does my employer legally have to pay me for hours worked over my contracted hours?
the answer is, if you are payed hourly then usually yes there is a overtime rate. for us sparkies its time and a half for over 8hrs, time and a half for saturday mornings and double time sat afternoon and all sunday,
if you are payed salary then you are allotted a number of hours you should work weekly, and any extra you work is tuff titty.

That depends on how the contract is written. I am a contractor, and I get paid for over-time or I can choose to use it as comp time. On a previous job I was a contractor who was not allowed to receive over-time because it stated that in the contract. My supervisor allowed me to use the over-time that I worked as under the table comp-time (since I technically wasn't suppose to earn that either).
Oh yeah I also wanted to add that I understood your question. No one is perfect and we make typo's sometimes. If people feel that strongly about the grammar in your post they just shouldn't respond at all.
After all this isn't school it's yahoo answers. Take a chill pill people.

Depends if you're salaried or payed by the hour. If you're pay by the hour the right thing to do is pay you for the hours you worked. You are salaried then you get payed same wage no matter how many hours you work. If you're working that many hours and getting payed by the hour and they are paying you for the hours your working then either go to employment office and file a complaint or find a different job.

If you're contract that usually means you don't have a specific number of hours you must work and your pay remains the same.
If you are hourly, then you must be paid extra time.
Go to the wage and hour law website.
