I have read 2 diffferent translation of "The Art of War". It is available as a free downloadfrom Project Gutenberg at
http://www.gutenberg.org
search fo "Sun Tzu" under authors

The original work is 12 short chapters each covering a different aspect of conducting a sucessful war. Our current entanglement in Iraq is a prime example of ignoring the lessons of the 12 chapters.

Sun Tzu's "Art of War" has many lessons that can be applied to the world or life in general. His main focus is on using misdirection to confuse/surprise the enemy. Politicians do this regularly, use misdirection that is, by attacking each other rather than making their own stances clear. There are an infinite number of examples that I can cite...I suggest that all people read "Art of War" and apply the lessons to their own life and view of the world.
