Unfortunately, this is the accepted perception of the Bible. Acceptance by the church and preached to the masses. They want you to be a slave to their doctrine to keep you obedient little sheep.
Let us explore, than, the Tree of Knowledge in The Garden of Eden. As "God" proclaimed that; if you eat of the fruit from the tree of knowledge, you will die. With this clever little lie inserted into the Bible, the church is teaching you to become a slave to it's dogma. They don't want you to have your own free will. To gain knowledge of the real TRUTHS of life. Because, once YOU eat from the tree of knowledge you will realize that their teachings are of no use to you.
Religions stronghold over the masses is only held in place by a cornerstone. Once that stone is removed, the rest of their lies and deceipts crumble to the ground and their usefullness disappears.

Actually that whole 'Garden of Eden' story is just a warning that a Woman can talk a Man into doing ANYTHING even if GOD ALMIGHTY has personally told him NOT to do it.

It's basically a metaphor for marriage. See, once you taste the woman's fruit, it's get the f*ck out of paradise where your Father provides for every need.

Outside that garden you have to find a job, 'cause Dad ain't gonna support your rug rats. You want to be fruitful and multiply? Strap on the plow and start sweating.

No, they chose death over life and slavery (to sin) over freedom.

If God created the earth, why would He need slaves to turn the earth into His "own private estate"?

They did not have that choice. God gave them everything. A beautiful paradise earth delicious food to eat all he did was give them a simple test of obedience. He told them not to eat the fruit of that one tree to see how much they loved him and weather or not the were obedient. They disobeyed and got took all of that away.
