But testing for medical reasons is fine. i totally agree with that.

But harm to them is just WRONG.

Cosmetics, over cleaner, shampoo....all that we do NOT need to test on animals any longer.

Medical testing on animals is necessary and needs to continue!!

I agree with most posters. Testing for cosmetic reasons or for things like cleaners is completely pointless. Testing for medical reasons is necessary, though, and must continue. How do you think doctors developed ways to perform surgery? I saw a movie about the first African American surgeon and it showed how he operated on a golden retriever puppy with a heart condition and learned from it so he was able to save a little girls life later with the same operation. Not all animal testers (for medical reasons) are cruel as some people think but do still have the animals welfare in mind. I'll never understand why groups like PETA "liberate" some animals who are being treated well while being used for medical testing only to have those pets run over by cars minutes later as they try to cross the highway.

Well, consider that your veterinarian ran tests on animals, killed animals, or used killed animals when he went to medical school. Would you rather he never have used animals in his studies? Not me. Were these animals abused? Not likely. Do you think your veterinarian cruel?

The ARBA has funded or is currently funding research on a drug that will be used as a pain killer for bunnies when they need operations or when they recover from such things. I am sure they are testing it on rabbits since any other subject would be pointless as rabbits' systems are very different from any other animal. That makes sense and thank goodness for it.

I most certainly believe that animals should be loved and treated well and with respect and I am not against animal testing.

This is a delicate subject. Always has been and always will be. Everyone has an opinion and everyone should respect everyones opinion.

This is my opinion:-

If new things need to be test for humans, what's better than testing them on humans? Prisons are over crowded and all lifers ( Murderers, Rapists, paedophiles) should be used for testing. They will used thousands in tax payers money so they should give something back.
My brother died of cancer but I still don't give to cancer research or any other animals testing. I would if they used lifers though.

i don't think cosmetics should be tested on animals, but if testing was not done on animals my grandson would be dead his medication will have at sometime been tested the same with antibiotics and most life saving drugs, i love animals and wish this was not the case and they tested them on murderers but that would be called cruel what do you think

Then please do not partake in radiation treatments, antibiotic treatments, bone surgeries where bone is added...

All those are tested on animals and I'm very thankful they are.

So next time your sucking on some penicillen, remember this lil post of yours.
