If it were, I personally would not mind because I do not drink myself (I just don't like it and I think it's rather pointless). However, it's not up to me and I don't think that they will try to ban it again after the Prohibition fiasco.

The Volstead Act did just that in 1920, and it put organized crime in charge of liquor distribution nationwide. Look at how successful we have been prohibiting prostitution and marijuana.
Now look at sugar. It is far and away the most addictive substance on the planet, has terrible health consequences with overuse and affects the way people think and act. Our entire national economy would collapse if we did anything about its harmful effects.
Ask yourself, if sugar were prohibited, how much a chocolate bar could sell for. Would the public ignore a ban? How effective a tool is prohibition, and why can't we get the lesson of the 1920s through our idiot skulls?

Alcohol, like any drug, if used properly is not harmful to the user or others around that person. It is the mis-use of the drug that causes harm.
Too many people use and enjoy the use of this drug for its prohibition to be effective. Most other drugs are strictly regulated to prevent harm. However, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine are not under such regulations. For a person that uses none of these three drugs, a prohibition would present no threat. Think of the world where no one gets their morning coffee, smoke and three martinis at lunch. I don't think we would know what hit us.

I don't believe that alcohol should be banned any more than I believe drugs should be banned. While bad does come from too much drinking (especially from people driving drunk) there is also good that can come from the consumption of alcohol. Some new mothers find it difficult to nurse their babies ... give them a beer fifteen minutes before and the milk comes easily and the baby is fed the BEST food possible very easily. That is just ONE thing that alcohol can do that is positive. It can also be used when a woman has 'premature labor' ... it was used ALONE to stop it for years, but is now still used to 'relax' a woman on medication.
There are other GOOD reasons for alcohol ... it would be much better to TEACH people when they are children to 'drink responsibly' ...

In MY opinion, yes it should be ban but that's not the opinion of the rest of America. Personally, I can't stand the smell or the results of alcohol. I've kick a good looking woman out of my bed before for being drunk when she came to see me. People just do realize how sick it makes me to have to smell that crap. I'm not the majority and I know this but I still reserve the right to refuse my business because of alcohol.

Yep, this has been tried before and it failed. The problem is that anyone can make alcohol at home. Also, when it became banned the demand for it increased and certain groups started to make a killing off of it.

People should be advised about the health warnings, and then make up their own minds on whether they want to drink alcohol or not.

read your history. probation. laws will not fix a problem. just because some people have a problem with drinking does that mean every one else shouldn't be able to have a drink. because some sick people are rapist , does that mean sex should be outlawed. what about ice cream, cake, candy bars, pop, white sugar,it can make you overweight and cause health problems, should we pass a law about that?

The U.S. already tried that with the Prohibition Act of the 1920s and it didn't work.
