I think we're getting past the "who's causing it" argument and moving into the "let's solve it" phase. Thank goodness.

Hoax? Who says it's a Hoax.
Seems perfectly reasonable that for the planet to come out of it's third Ice Age, not including the Mini Ice Age, the planet would have to warm.
What the Liberal doinks don't seem to want to admit is that this process has been going on nearly 60 million years prior to the existence of man.
That's more than a Hoax, that's just plain stupid. Hoaxes are complicated and way beyond the intellectual capability of Liberals.
That they expect straight thinking people to buy into the idea that dismantling the industrial complex of the United States is some how going to stave off a planet in peril is just disturbing.
They are bogging down the dialog and preventing reasonable people from working on a plan to prepare.
Now that the scientific community has confirmed that Al Gore is a putz and we have no reason to build an Ark, I have realized that if I'm around long enough to experience global warming at it's worst, I will be the proud owner of water FRONT property rather than water VIEW.
I'm just going to sit tight.

The first problem with Global warming is that we assume that we Americans are the only guilty party. Scientists blame American automobile emissions first, huge cow herds second, and people existing on the planet third.
Okay, I'm making that up. But in the cause for Global Warming, everyone forgets that China has a bigger population than the United States and is about 20 years behind the environmental issues times. Where we Americans have been trying to reduce emissions, recycle, and filter and clean our air and water supplies, China is not. Europe, the Middle East, India, Russia, Mexico, and Malaysia are all contributors to pollution that is assumed to cause global warming. We Americans are not alone - wherever you find huge concentrations of humans consuming everything in sight, there you will find some of the sources causing Global Warming.
The Second problem with Global Warming is the assumption that the planet as it is now is currently in it's final phase of existence. We forget that the earth and it's climates are always changing. A few years of peace and plenty, and we assume that's the way it will be forever. But history and studies have shown that the earth transforms itself and its climate and topography every few thousand years. Perhaps the Age of the Dinosaurs and huge jungles that covered the planet during that era were not a one-time-only deal, but a cycle that's coming around again. We've actually had not one big Ice Age but 2 or 3 mini Ice Ages, including the one that killed off the Dinosaurs but a second one that started during the Middle Ages and lasted until about 100 years ago. Now we are in a planetary warm-up period that will last for several hundred years until the next Ice Age comes around.
We assume we are capable of destroying this planet, but if history is correct, God will destroy the people destroying His planet. This planet belongs to God - He will never allow man to destroy His Creation. Plenty of natural disasters have wiped out entire civilizations - did you miss the recent tornado that wiped out an entire city in the Midwest this last year? Did you miss that tsunami that wiped out half of Malaysia and the Indian Ocean coastal towns? Did you miss Hurricane Katrina and the other Hurricanes that wiped out most of Louisiana?
We blame humans for Global Warming, but equal contributors are volcano eruptions, earthquakes that cause volcano eruptions, and Comets and meteorites hitting the planet with such force they disrupt the atmosphere and send shock waves that disrupt the Jet Stream, causing huge weather changes. Some scientists are seriously paying attention to the possibility of the earth being re-polarized (meaning a switch from North Pole to South Pole and vice versa) which will cause a huge change in our climate.
And let's not forget the possibility of Armageddon, and the return of Jesus Christ the Savior, who will change everything all over again.
Politicians are on the Global Warming bandwagon as it is a political pundit and catchphrase that gets voters attention. They don't know all the facts - they just parrot the common assumptions in the hopes they will be voted in to office. Sure, caps on carbon emissions do help here in America, but that doesn't mean China is going to gladly put caps on their emissions as well. It doesn't stop China from producing billions of cheap plastic toys and products that end up in landfills because people still don't recycle. It won't stop you or I from driving our cars until automakers produce affordable hybrid vehicles or usable electric cars that produce little or no emissions. Change won't come from politicians spouting catchphrases, change will come when people stop being stupid and take responsibility for their own actions, and that's not going to happen in my neighborhood anytime soon, global warming or no.

Perhaps we instead should focus on the fact that we have been lied to. We have been manipulated into thinking that industialization is a good thing, when in reality if all would just follow the instructions given to them by God, they would produce their needs for themselves. This, providing your own toil in the soil, along with bartering for those needed things, is how we should have remained. The powers that be (PTB) however, cannot control you if this is the path you choose, so they've made it impossible to survive without the 'grid' that we have woven so carefully. In reality it's all smoke and mirrors, because we have NO security in this system....which a larger contrived catastophy will shortly prove.
Look at the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust_Bowl for an example of the warning God provided to us for our over raping of the earth. We turned a blind eyes, and continued in our path to 'progress'.
Once the PTB have completed their diabolical plan to control the world, global warming will be the least of our worries.

While I often come out and try to claim it a hoax, I do know better that valid research and scientific conclusions do support it. However, I hold my opinions in response to the way that proponents propose it. Take for example, Al Gore's film, which is largely true, but contained about 9 to 11 inaccuracies which were designed to pull at the heart strings. Good, real causes simply need to present their evidence, not scare children who love animals into thinking our actions are making polar bears drown. Also, many environmentalists are quick to point the finger, but are either slow or do not provide workable solutions (aside from going back to the stone age).
Good arguments against global warming exist too, which are summarily ignored.
To get back to your question: Republican nominees don't want to alienate anyone that might vote for them and happens to be environmentalist. Also, I'd trust them to solve the problem before liberals because they would care about keeping the economy strong at the same time.

The only ones who claim that its a hoax or a natural cycle are either the scientists being paid to say so by their employers or the people who choose to believe them.
If you are more than forty years old, you've probably witnessed some of the effects of global warming yourself. I know I wouldn't have dreamed of having Christmas dinner outside in Wyoming before 1995. It's just wrong.

It's not a hoax, it's a theory. The planet is warming; but we are not sure why. We could end up cooling down in the next 10 years; it still wouldn't hurt to reduce pollution of all forms and find renewable energy for many other reasons.

the argument is how much humans play into it and how much we actually contribute. gore said in 92' i believe that new york would be partially under water now. he was wrong. time mag said in 72' we were facing global cooling, according to most scientist. even now it is not a consensus as to how much we contribute to the problem. there have been several ice ages of varying degrees and at one point in history the earth was about 29 degrees warmer, on average. the eath has not warmed any more in tha past ten years.

Scientist themselves have not been able to confirm that the global warming is caused by humans. No one is denying that the world is getting warmer the question right now is it something that we as humans are doing or is it a natural cycle.
Think about it we have proven there was an Ice Age before man was around. So who ever you have telling you is a liberal hoax isn't that well informed, or you are using out dated information

Ok the real issue is that democrats, believe that it is humans causing global warming and specifically Americans being a key factor in the problem. Many repubs think that it's not happening at all which may be true for now, but in the Bible it says that at some point in the last days man "will curse God for the heat" If there is global warming it's being caused by our glowing light ball out there, and NOT by us. So taking all these steps and wasting money to prevent it will not help. These political panderers just want to swing votes from the moderates...
