even though he might be absolutely ordinary in appearance?

This happens in all fields: in cinema, sports, business...

...

Just an example...

Do you think that if Leonardo Di Caprio hadn't been one of the main characters in the movie "Titanic" (but had participated in that movie), that he would ever have been considered a " woman's heartbreaker"? (Or if any other secondary actor in that movie had performed that part, that he wouldn't have been considered "every women's dream"?...)

Or that if Brad Pitt didn't have the resume he has, that many women would remember to say he is attractive?...

...

While at this, do you think that the same happens with men (in regard to women)?

Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt would be hot if they were working at McDonalds.

Do you think anyone thinks Donald Trump is attractive aside from his gold-digging wives?

I disagree. Women say that men like Brad Pitt and Leonardo are hot because they're hot. I suppose the added screen time does give the audience more time to recognize how attractive...and also allows us to see them in a wide range of emotions and facial expressions, which is really cool. But, even if Brad Pitt and Leonardo were both gas station clerks, they would still be considered very attractive, because they are. They might not be considered "every woman's dream" because even a very attractive with a dead-end job is not a "dream"...but their hotness would not be questioned.

Now, those two fellows aside, I still disagree. If a guy is unattractive or ordinary, money won't make him more handsome (unless he maybe hires a personal trainer or gets cosmetic surgery). Although, money might make him more appealing as a partner if a woman places a lot of emphasis on financial success.

There is a group of women, who are greatly affected by fame and large amounts of money. However, they do not represent the rest of a female gender. Most women are impressed by self assurance, which sometimes is another name for a success in whatever man does in his life. By success I do not mean fame, because most people enjoy their privacy. I personally am not impressed by wealth either: I am doing very well on my own. Thank you. What really is impressive to me has no monitory value:
1. Talent
2. Hard work
3. Dedication and focus
4. Honesty
5. Compassion
6. Loyalty
7. Intelligence
8. Sharp wit.

As you can see, there is no amount of money large enough to substitute for those.
I do agree with you on Leo Di Caprio and somewhat on Brad Pitt . They have been lucky to be in the right place at the right time. The thing is... I prefer dark haired men though... lol

In that case, it was probably their looks that put them in that part. But I do agree, nearly even male with a leading role these days are really "Average Joe" looking but they are being treated like the hottest man alive.

The same does happen the other way around. Remember awhile ago everyone was talking about how hot Barbra Streisand was? The women is ugly. They just had to convince the public she is beautiful so she can sell more.

Then again women like Pamela Anderson starts out as background characters on "Home Improvement" and becames famous for their looks and end up in bigger roles.

An attractive man is an attractive man, money, status, fame and fortunate will never change that.
Unfortunately there are b_tchy gold diggers out there that would decieve a homely looking, naive guy for his money, riches, shelter, security, and financial rewards and that is just cold hearted.
If women didn't like a guy because she thought he was repulsive then she should avoid, rich or poor, not just avoid him when he's poor and then give him the time of day when he's rich.

The reason why Angelina Jolie fell for Billy Bob Thorton was because she was a crack head who thought carrying around another man's blood in a vile around her neck was sexy, blah!

Brad and Leo aren't good examples for me! I don't find them attractive at all! Brad has terrible skin and a small build, while Leo has an awkward face and small build. Not my type at all!

I do know this one guy, assosciate of my husbands, that is disgustingly wealthy. He's got so much money, I wouldn't doubt it if he wipes his a.ss with it! This guy is plain old ordinary average looking, with bright red hair. He's loud, egotistical, verbose, and republican. He tells horrid off color jokes that are never funny, and deems himself to be very intelligent (even tho' its was his brother that started their company, and this guy didn't come on 'till years later.

We've been out with him a few times for business, and this dude had NO luck, even in his own crowd! Women could see him coming from a mile away! He finally found someone tho', (she has red hair too btw....hmmmm) and she is very similar to him. This lady is NUTS! She's an attorney and comes from 'old money', so, in aswer to your question, NO, I don't think women gravitate just for money, although some certainly have. I think most women are not looking to sell their soul, and want true happiness. There's always exceptions to the rule of course, but I don't think this is the norm.

We have several very wealthy 'old money' associates, and I can tell you this, money marries money 9 times out of 10. They're raised to 'keep it all in the family'. That being the case, it makes it a little harder for gold diggers, unless they go after the neuvo riche.

Brad Pitt and Leanardo DiCaprio are not good examples to use. Billy Bob Thornton would be a good example, though. Not good looking, so how did Angelina fall for him?

Successful people in business, both men and women, have an attractiveness about them because they are smart. I’m sorry, but I’m attracted to brainy people, and CEOs generally are very smart. That’s what makes people think they’re attractive.

i agree, generally speaking, but having a strong, aggressive 'cool' persona can still go a long ways. There's still I lot more to being sexy as a guy to women than just having a lot of money. I mean if Bill gates was just an ordinary middle-class guy,I doubt even the ugly chics would have anything to do with him. I'm one of those guys.women love to hate.

For those who commented on some of the "less attractive" but wealthy men...

Donald Trump... age 61... married to Melania Trump Age 37...

I'm sure his money had nothing to do with gaining a wife who was 24 years younger...

Bills Gates is also married... going on 13 years now... do you think he would be if he were working at McDonalds as someone said of Brad Pitt...

Show me how many of these wealthy politicans referred to are not married as well... or are even under the age of say 50...

Every single person reffered to is about 50 or older... and your comparing them to Brad Pitt, and Leonardo Di Caprio... ((who are 43 and 32 respectively)

Its not all women, but as a gender, women are increasingly attracted to a man based on his wealth and power (or fame, which is a form of power)... not to say they would not be attracted otherwise to someone ie. Brad Pitt... but it amplifies the attraction...

Edit: Ms. Sophi... So basically, you go for more of a Leonardo Da Vinci than a Leonardo Di Caprio... ;)

Edit 2: Its not to suggest that all women care about it a mans wealth (well... some do) but I think you could compare the importance of a mans power and wealth to women as being up there with the importance of a womans physical beauty to men... and saying that all men and women are not the same is a cop-out type of answer... truthfully, most are close enough to being the same... its only common sense that every woman is not attracted to the exact same thing or vice versa for men or there would be a specific laid out description of perfect beauty ie. whether blonde is better than brunette, what height and build is ideal, etc. but thats arguing semantics...

Most everybody has SOMETHING to work with in the looks department, and if you've got the resources, you can pay to get the work done: whether it's a nicer haircut, snappier clothes, botox, or head-to-toe plastic surgery.

It's the same with women. Avril Lavigne, for instance. She has youth, 'tude, and tons of make-up (maybe a little talent); but she's decidedly homely. And yet, I would bang her. Go figger.

Anyway, until MY ship comes in, I've taken down all the mirrors in my house.
