A parallel universe exists. Read "TimeLine"
Timeline is a science fiction novel by Michael Crichton that was published in November 1999. It tells the story of historians who travel to the Middle Ages thanks to the work of a brilliant yet unprincipled entrepreneur who plans to use the technology to enhance historical tourist attractions. The book follows in Crichton's long history of combining technical details and action in his books, addressing quantum physics and time travel.
It mentions that it is an alternate universe that one travels to when going back in time. He bases his books on science fact.

I believe that there *could* be, and, yes, it *is* scientifically possible.
This is kind of hairy, but I'll do my best to explain.
Physicists have discovered that, at the quantum level (sub-atomic), when the probability of 2 outcomes to an event is *exactly* 50-50, *both* outcomes occur! Let me explain more fully. In the production of a certain type of short-lived particle (I believe that it was a positron), physicists calculated a method by which the particle could be created. There was an unknown: whether the particle would have a left or right spin. Mathematically, there is *exactly* a 50% chance for each outcome. The physicists, naturally, supposed that they would (statistically) get a left-spin particle 50% of the time, and a right-spin particle the other 50%. What they discovered, much to their amazement, was that they got *both* particles *every* time - even though they were only producing 1 particle, two particles, 1 left spin, 1 right spin, were produced!
Physicists have since determined that this is a law of nature, and that *every* time there is *exactly* a 50% probability for 1 of 2 outcomes, *both* outcomes *will* occur!
Now, while you're trying to wrap your head around that scientific fact, ask yourself: why don't we see this happen? Why, when you flip a coin, do you not see two coins, 1 "heads" and 1 "tails"?
The answer is that the probable outcome in flipping a coin is *not* exactly 50/50. Indeed, in our (non-microscopic) world, there are *so many* variables that the *only* place that a *true* *precise* 50% situation occurs (to the best of our knowledge) is at the subatomic level.
Some physicists theorize that, whenever an event with true 50/50 outcome occurs, a separate dimension is created in which the "other" event occurs (the one we don't see).
With the advent of string theory (and the strictly mathematically-based hypothesis that our universe may have 11 or more dimensions, rather than the 4 to which physicists are accustomed), it seems quite possible that parallel dimensions do exist.
Note, however, that I said "quite possible". There is *no* evidence of the existence of parallel universes.
On the other hand, if the universe is *truly* infinite, then there are quite likely (indeed, almost certainly) parallel worlds. In other words, somewhere, in an *infinite* universe with infinite worlds, everything that *could* happen *is* happening, right now.
Weird, huh?

Hey good question. I think this is more on the realm of metaphysics, but according one of Steven Hawking's new theories there are (almost) infinitely many worlds created whenever one "choice" or occurrence happens over the other possibilities. When one choice is determined then the other possible scenarios still occur but in other universes. He used this new theory to describe how there is an "information" (aka energy) loss in his recent description of the black hole's loss of matter (aka energy)

One form of quantum theory states that every time a quantum event occurs, new universes are created, budding off from this one, so that all possible outcomes are played out. Er... it gets rather complicated beyond that.

NO.
There are some that will argue that there is a parallel world to ours, but it has never been proven or demonstrated. It is all theory and theories are a dime a dozen...

I believe nothing, because a belief is accepted without proof. I form no opinion about such matters as this, for there is no way to prove or disprove such an idea. i wrote a story about such a thing years ago.
