Your Virtual Memory setting may just need to be changed. Go to START/Control Panel/ System

Click on the Advanced tab then click on Settings under Performance once the dialog box opens under the Visual Effects tab check Adjust for best performance and make sure that all of the items in the scrollable window are clear of check marks.

Now click on the Advanced tab, for Processor Scheduling click on Programs, Memory usage click Programs, Virtual Memory set the Total paging file size for all drives at 1538 MB ... Click the Change button and click on the C: drive once to highlite it. Check Custom size enter the value Initial Size (MB) 1536 Maximum size (MB) 3072 then click OK. Under the Performance Options you will see the Virtual Memory value set to 1536 MB.

Under the Data Execution Prevention tab check Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only. Click OK

That should fix your low memory problem. If it doesn't please e-mail me.

This might be because of two things...

First, if you are not letting Windows manage your virtual memory, you probably should. It does well in most cases.

In order to tell if this is your current setting, do the following:

Right click on "My Computer" and select properties
Click on the "Advanced" tab
Click on the "Settings" button under Performance
Now the "Advanced" tab - (Almost there)
Now down in the Virtual Memory area at the bottom, It should report that it is being handled by the system.

If it is not, then click on the "Change" button and select "System managed size. Ok on out.

Now the next problem is that your hard drive may be filling up. Check on the available space on the hard drive and just be sure that you have at least twice the amount of memory installed available.

Good Luck

Sorry.. there's not much anything you can do short of put up with it.

You may be receiving it because you have too much running and not even know it. Do a quick scan down on the bottom corner near your computer clock and close out any programs/icons you're not using at any given moment. that should help.

Add more RAM. Go into "MSConfig" and turn off some of the crap that start when your computer does.
