man of strong principle and character and a genuine Conservative leader that stands up for GOP principles better than anyone else in the race?

He is NOT a member of opus dei, and so what, he's still a good Christian whether he's a Protestant or a Catholic. This is 2007! Get off of your religious bigotry.

It is true that his conservative credentials are more impressive than any of the so called top tier candidates, but so are those of Huckabee, Hunter, and Tancredo. The media ignores all of those except for their #1 darling,
Huckabee. The exclusion by the media is the primary reason why Brownback is not doing better. A secondary reason is that he has not shown much ability in fundraising.

He is a good man, but my problem with him is that he is wanting to fit everyone into the same "cookie-cutter" mold that he is cut from. We're all different with different values and beliefs. He wants to legislate morality to the country through laws banning gay marriage and abortion. By the way, I am also a conservative Christian who is against abortion and I consider myself somewhat of a homophobe. But I don't think that issues such as these two should be decided by the federal government, they are decisions that each individual must make on their own. These are issues of morality and as such, judgment can only be passed by God, not by me, you, Brownback, or any other human being. To try and legislate morality is completely un-American and goes against the principles of the Constitution. (I'm not saying that Brownback or any other candidate is un-American, just this type of policy.) The only candidate that I've seen who would completely uphold the principles of the Constitution is Ron Paul.

Why should hard-core Protestants trust one of their own who converts to Catholicism under the instigation of the notorious Opus Dei?

Apparently he isn't resonating the way you think he is with the GOP regulars.

Don't be so impertinent. The media will tell you how to vote. Just relax and do as you're told.
