Scorpios: what are you thinking when you stare?

Question

I'm intrigued to know what scorpios are thinking when you are staring/gazing at someone? There is a large body of information and confirming statements about the intensity of the scorp gaze and that you can see into people's psyches, but what are you actually thinking and what are you actually looking for when you stare?

I notice that scorp's stare/look at everyone (in general). Personally I find this habit very time consuming. I've tried it, and I usually get distracted from my current activity and it takes me time to refocus.

I'm wondering how the staring affects/enhances you as a person?
I.e. Are you staring because you are attracted to someone, or are you sizing the person up to see if they are 'strong-willed' enough to meet your gaze and stare back, are you looking for the person's vulnerabilities? Importantly, do you look at everyone the same- or do you have a certain "special" look for reserved from some people?

Yeah.. Scorpio's stares can be so mysterious and dark.

I'm a sag with Scorpio rising. However, I don't really like it.. I mean I don't like to be stared/ gazed in that way. I prefer a friendly, sunny, smiley, sparkling and warm eyes.. that can talk. That makes me go crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

I stare or rather gaze deeply if i like someone a lot
i also do it when i'm being sincere
i have always been very facially expressive but as scorpio traits include staring, i can accept that it's perhaps connected to this!
I am very sincere as a person and for me looking deeply into peoples eyes is a part of my way of communicating with them, almost making sure they understand me and that what i'm saying or listening to if the case may be is very important to me. Another thing is that it sometimes reveals people who are about to or who are decieving me. They cannot continue deception with my sincere stare. It is something that i do unconsciously and not premeditated, and I only think about it when people remark on it. I mean nothing bad by it. It just happens and I think looking into peoples eyes intently reveals a lot about them. I dont know if other scorpios agree but thats how it is for me. The psychic thing kind of ties in with the deep gaze - you sometimes feel you can see inside a persons mind.

I'm a scorpio. I often stare at the guys i'm attracted to, also alot of the time i'll be looking at something but something else will be going on in my mind and i'll think alot. Now that i think about it i do stare at people, i think maybe we are trying to say something with our eyes, like we just assume others can tell what we want by the look on our face (which they can't). I find it hard to express emotions like other scorpios do, so we tend to keep it inside.

I'm a Scorpio.
I have a very intense stare but I don't even notice that I'm doing it sometimes unless someone points it out or looks nervous lol.
When I stare I am analyzing and reading that person.

The eyes are the window to your soul. Scorps LOVE to learn and know everything about someone. So when they look into your eyes they are deeply taking in everything that you're saying and learning about you at the very same time. It also shows power.....let's ppl know who's boss. We can out stare anyone, anytime and that makes us feel powerful.

However, not all Scorps use their power against ppl, so don't judge every Scorp that you meet :)

Hmmm... I would have to say all of the above!! When I meet someone I stare at them to get a "vibe" it's hard to explain. I guess I just want to get a feel for what kind of person they are. For example if I meet someone for the first time and they can't meet my stare then that person is not trustworthy to me. Call me nuts but I have not been wrong yet. My husband (a Libra) says I'm too harsh on some people but I can't help it, that's just me. As far as having a "special" look reserved, yes I think all Scorpios have "that look" reserved for their loved one.

I'm scorpio rising and I do stare at everyone, but It also makes me uncomfortable when people stare at me the same way... I stare to size people up and see what kind of person they are, and I stare just to see if they are sexy or not. I usually can figure people out by looking at them and into their eyes.

I'm a scorp and now its pretty much the opposite. I try to concentrate on my own things and everyone tries to get my attention somehow, either by standing infront of my desk as they chat or look at me as they pass until I look up then they smile and move on. its stresses me out. I just assume its the scorp's magnetic personality that draws people to me even though they don't know what to do about it.

on the other hand when I do find something intersting, I will gaze in a semistate because I tend to see more than what is on the table. I tend to see how they made it up.

In other words when someone is talking, I not only hear what they say, I watch how they say it, I see what they are wearing how they wear their hair, their smile their eyes, the way they stand, then my mind wanders in directions that is anyones guess, what mood they are in, where were they last night, how did they get to work this morning, stupid stuff that really doesn't matter that is why I never bring it up.

I've got mercury in scorpio and have been accused of "the stare", but it's only when I'm thinking really intently (mercury, go figure).

I would agree with michelle in that if I am guilty of the stare, it's when I'm trying to figure out where that person who is the recipient of the stare is coming from.

When I stare at someone is because I either admire their beauty or they look interesting to me and I wonder what sign they might be if they look weird or mysterious. When I stare at my boyfriend, it's more like a sexual thought.

I stare when I want to deter someone, to give a deadpan expression, when I am already thinking of a solution while you are prattling, I don't really care and stop wasting my time, when I want to get someone to look at me(they feel my stare), and like my name suggests...
